From CIAN:

World Renowned Security Expert to Address Peoria Businesses
Former Intelligence Officer to speak about importance of information security and terrorism threats in Central Illinois

Peoria, IL – CIAN, Inc. is pleased to announce that renowned US security expert, Ray Semko, also known as the D*I*C*E Man, is returning to Peoria May 11, 2012 and  will speak from 2-4 at the Packard Plaza.

Semko, a retired Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) counterintelligence agent began spreading the word world-wide in the form of security awareness training while still serving in his government position.

Semko is known for his D*I*C*E program that has been utilized by the government and private sector for over 20 years. D*I*C*E stands for Defensive Information to Counter Everything.

Semko’s presentation explains the necessity and process of recognizing adversaries and targets, methods adversaries use, and countermeasures which can be taken. This informational seminar will help protect invaluable trade secrets, business plans, and even personal information.

CIAN is sponsoring this free opportunity for businesses, local law enforcement, local Department of Defense personnel, and the community to hear Semko speak as part of their goal to raise awareness of security and terrorism threats.

Semko’s two hour presentation will cover current threats to America and to American companies, how to exist and grow in this world economy, the need to be more proactive in their own security programs, countermeasures that will help them survive and hopefully thrive as well as the importance of quick reporting of any potential problems to the proper authorities.

“Terrorism will never be eradicated but I am trying to minimize it by making everyday citizens aware that it exists,” Semko said.  “The Peoria area in particular, located between two major cities, Chicago and St. Louis, provides an ideal location for terrorist activity and staging.”

“It is an honor for CIAN to bring someone of Ray’s caliber here to Peoria,” said Steve Hope, President and CEO of CIAN, Inc. “Our goal is to increase awareness among local government, businesses and private citizens and point out the options we have available to protect themselves, their businesses and our country. CIAN is offering this opportunity free of charge as our contribution to the safety and awareness of our local community.”
