A 26-year-old American, born in the United States, living in big house in an upscale suburb of Boston with his parents (an engineer and healthworker), was a star soccer player in high school and graduated at the top of his class, received a scholarship to Boston’s Northeastern University and graduated from there in 2008 with a degree in physics, and played drums in an alt-rock jam band — WANTED TO KILL YOU. Why?
According to the affidavit, this American met with al-Qaeda operatives right here in the US (who were actually undercover federal agents) and said he was unwavering in his resolve to stage a violent jihad and his goal was to kill as many “kafirs,” or non-believers, as possible. In case you didn’t get the memo, I hate to break it to you but YOU are a kafir (read what that term really means; most people don’t realize this).
This American, who lived here all his life and benefitted from all that America had to offer his entire 26 years, was just arrested for plotting to fly explosives-packed model planes into the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol as well as for attempting to provide support and resources to al Qaeda in order to carry out attacks on U.S. soldiers overseas. He had planned this for TWO years and went to Washington, DC to case the sites.
The FBI press release stated, “During various recorded meetings, Ferdaus envisioned causing a large “psychological” impact by killing Americans, including women and children, who he referred to as “enemies of Allah.” According to the affidavit, Ferdaus’ desire to attack the United States is so strong that he confided, “I just can’t stop; there is no other choice for me.” What kind of ideology/doctrine causes an American to want to kill his fellow Americans so bad that ‘he just can’t stop’?
The insider threat is right here, right now.
